Elementary Religious Education

We offer multiple options for children of our parish in grades K-5 in need of primary religious education. This program is especially for students who do not alrady receive formation within a parochial school. Classes meet October through April, on multiple days so as to offer families flexibility for scheduling. The program is taught by parishioner catechists, who undergo background checks, child protection training, and Diocesan certification for teaching the faith.

Sunday Little Church

This program is for any 3 or 4 year old of the parish and meets every Sunday during Mass October through April. The program is led by Catechists and aides who are certified through the Diocese.

Sacramental Preparation

Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist are open to any child from the parish aged 7 and up. They must be enrolled in a religious education program, a parochial school or home schooled in religion. Classes run for 4 weeks in November for Reconciliation and 6 weeks for Confirmation/First Eucharist together in January, February and March.

Family Formation (Seasonal)

The parish hosts full-family events each Lent and Advent, with a focus on practices and discussion that the family can use at home to further their faith journey together. The John Paul II library, located in the parish center, is also a great resource for family-friendly religious references!

Adult Formation

Two Scripture Study Programs are available to adult parishioners. The first is Little Rock Scripture Study, which focuses intently on a particular book or topic from the Bible over a six to ten week period of study; this group meets September-May. We also offer a Catholic Scripture Study group that also meets weekly through the school year. This group utilizes a series written by Mark Shea and Scott Hahn to focus on a particular area of the Bible each year.

RCIA/RCIC

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Children is for those aged 7 and up that request baptism or full initiation into the Catholic Faith. This process usually takes a full liturgical year of faith formation with celebration of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. A team of catechists work with these catechumens and candidates throughout the year to prepare them for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist as needed.
